I have always been incredibly interested in psychology as well as design, and wanted to incorporate my fascination with psychopathology into one of my projects. I chose to focus on popular, yet slightly taboo, mental health disorders. Three that came to mind for me were anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and eating disorders. After making them, I thought they could be a great campaign for a mental health account on social media. Below are my original sketches of my “mental monsters” as well as my first versions of their designs.
